(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?- I've had chickens for about a year now, started with babies from tsc and have worked my way up to incubating
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?- I lost count after 50 I believe I believe around 77
(3) What breeds do you have?- isa brown, slw, oe, ee, cuckoo maran, ameraucana
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? incubating has quickly become a new favorite hobby of mine. I enjoy watching them hatch and grow up while their personalities start to come through. Having fresh eggs everyday is also a plus.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?- With everything going on in the world and working in healthcare I don't have much time for other hobbies. But when I can I enjoy traveling and working on our start up homestead
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I'm a nurse in long term care, I manage a ltc unit and a locked dementia unit. I woudnt change what I do, I love it although it does have its trying days. I split my time between my house in western mass and my boyfriends in upstate ny where the chickens are currently living. Between the both of us we have 4 dogs including 2 narcotic canines( boyfriend uses them for his business) 4 cats and a chinchilla.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community- Just learned about it from facebook and figured I would give it a try.
