I'm new to BYC and just want to say hi.

I have x1 Speckledy, x1 Black Rock, x1 Beechwood Blue (and hopefully a Calder Ranger soon)

I got my lady's on 1st June 2013 and on the first day of them being in the coop my Black Rock laid an egg and 'shouted' at me until I came and collected the egg.
Since the 1st, I have had NO eggs and I'm wondering if this is normal behaviour or if I'm doing something wrong!?

They have regular clean water, layer pellets, fresh grass to forage in and also collect the dandelions for them which they love.

Just confused to have an egg on the first day (which I was very surprised about) then to have nothing since

Hello and welcome....so glad you joined BYC

Sounds like you are doing everything right. There are lots of things that may keep your hen from laying. New surroundings, molting or just being startled/frightened by something can cause them to stop laying for a day or two.

I think you should see another egg sooner than later. Good luck to you

The first egg she laid was probably being "constructed" before you took possession. Afterwards she hasn't laid any because everything changed for her. When she feels secure in her new home she will start laying again.
