Hello from So Cal

Hi there! My name is Katie, and I found this website through a friend on another forum

I don't have any chickens yet, and I really don't know anything about them, but I am SO enjoying this site. It's got great info! I think in a few years when I am not a renter I will set up my own chicken coop and put to use the good info I'm finding here.

I did have one question: I am searching far and wide for someone I can buy eggs from. I know that even though the eggs at Whole Foods or any farmer's market say cage free, organic, etc. they come from the same poorly kept and bred chickens. I am pretty big on health and local farming. I don't have the need to join a poultry CSA because I don't eat meat myself. But I do eat eggs! And I just want to buy eggs from someone I know is using healthy heritage breeds in clean houses.

I live in Orange County, but am willing to travel a bit. Any So Cals want to sell me some eggs?
