Do it!!! I've had my lil flock for about 6 weeks now and it has been a great experience for me and my fam! Even my wife, "the hold out" (to quote you! lol), enjoys watching chicken TV and has "her own" chick that loves to cuddle with her!

Hi I'm also in SoCal and very new to chickens too. I had been reading this forum for months before I finally joined. I have become addicted to reading the posts here, I think you will too!(the link to BYC is even up there ^ on my taskbar)

I finally just took the plunge and have 3, 3 week old babies now that I got at 1 day old. If you get your babies we can be newbies together!
