Hello! I have been reading BYC for over a year now in preparation for my first set of chicks who will be one year old in April. I can't believe how much fun they are. When I was a child I remember someone telling me that "if you had chickens you didn't need a TV". I now understand completely.
I started out with a Buff Orpington, a Plymouth Barred Rock, a Delaware, a Rhode Island Red, a Russian Orloff, and a Gold Laced Wyandotte. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to have chickens where I live, and so when they got to making too much noise, I rehomed three of them to a farm in Napa where they could free range on 1/2 acre. I think the ones that I kept were disappointed - Napa looks pretty good!
I will post my favorite picture of all but the Delaware soon.
Thanks!
Rita
