Hi! I joined last week after reading a lot of info to help me with my chickens especially how to have them survive the heat we are experiencing (temps over 100 degrees!).

I've never raised chickens before so this is all new to me. I have 6 Rhode Island Reds - all pullets (I think - I don't know when I'll know for sure). I'm not sure how old they are but I got them the first of May and they had some wing feathers started already. I appreciate all the info on this site and maybe someday I'll know enough to contribute as well.

Be sure to share pics of your babies!

I am right there with you on the Heat... Had a Silkie Die of Heat stroke yesterday and almost lost the other 2 pullets! They turned over there water and I was gone all day so when I came home they were bad.....

Plenty of info on this sight that I discovered to help me through this weather though!
