I am expecting to get my first six chicks on Saturday, April 23rd.
After researching some breeds that would work for our space and needs, my family decided on Barred Rocks. My husband is going to pick up from the Mt Healthy hatchery in Cincinnati, OH. I am in the process of converting a wooden storage shed to a chicken coop. There is already a screened-in outdoor area that I used when my goats were kids.
I'm hoping to gather enough information to have a successful first attempt at raising chicks!
