Hello from Southern Illinois

G’Day from down under Charlie Echo :frow Welcome and congratulations on your new home!

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
Thanks.

Hello. I ordered my first chickens from Murray McMurray back in 92. Haven't had any since 09 when we raised a batch illegally in our garage/backyard in town. (In town subdivision - no one had a clue - no roosters of course.) Recently relocated to Southern Illinois, and closing on some rural property next week. Really looking forward to starting a small mixed flock. It's great how much easier it is to connect and get advice with this thing called the Internet. Well that's about it, heading over to post some questions.
Welcome aboard, Charlie. Hope you enjoy your stay. You'll find plenty of help around here, and maybe have a few laughs along the way.
I've spent some time around your general area, Rend Lake, specifically. I used to field trial there. I lost my 1st horse there, on rte 57, when he tangled with a Chevette in the dark.

Thanks. Rend Lake area is really nice, but I-57 from Mt. Vernon to Marion referred to as "Valley of Death" by some, terrible stretch of highway.
