Hi everyone- I'm Debby and I live in southern Maryland. I'm a science teacher and this summers research project has been preparing me to raise chickens. I'm very excited to have received a shipment of my first 6 chicks today! All arrived healthy, no pasty butt, and all seem to have settled in to their brooder and found the food and water. I ordered 2 EEs, 2 Barred Rocks, and 2 Columbian Wyandottes. However the hatchery did have a good hatch of the Wyandottes, so I got 1 Columbian and one Silver Laced instead.
When I was a kid we used to raise quail, but that was many years ago. This is my first time as a chicken momma. However I am the momma of two college age kids, one Belgian Malinois, 4 lucky cats, and 4 hives of bees. I've been reading a lot of the information on this website in preparation for my latest arrivals, and I look forward to participating in this forum.
