Thanks, all of you! I am waiting for the ground to thaw in the next month to install below ground fencing around the six foot privacy fence that encloses the hoop house where the flock will spend its second through fourth month of life. The hoop house has a fenced in bottom, is secure all the way around and under and so forth. The neighbors' dog will be kept out by security gates. My Husky is now 14 and so old that she is inside except for walks. Poor dear! My Lab loves (loved?) his chickens and slept with them, played with them, etc.. So this time we are wiser and better prepared. I fear that in her youth, my Husky might have inflicted damage on other's flocks, but I don't know. She is indoors now, and not much long for this world. I guess in a way, that problem solved itself.

We are excited for the new flock, and this time, with the new set up, I think my daughter will enjoy years of happy chicken keeping.

It is very nice to find people who are working through many of the same issues we have with their chickens, and have wisdom and knowledge to offer. I hope I can reciprocate!

Have a great day everyone!
