Hello everyone
This is Jaycee from Belleville IL about 15 min outside st.louis mo
Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have been raising chickens for 3 years. 1st 2 years small laying flock of laying hens (which coon got before they started laying) and a few Cornish cross. This year I also did 30 meat birds!!
How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now I have 5 leghorns that are so close to laying (18ish weeks old), 3 Australorp that are about 7 weeks old and 1 Cornish cross. We call him king, he is a runt from our meat birds that were harvestest last weekend.
How did u hear about Backyard Chickens
Every time I Google anything about chickens, this site always comes up and has lots of good information, so I thought I would join in the fun!!
What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy time with family (and church family), gardening, camping, fishing, swimming, shooting, almost anything outside. I am also a seed collector :-D
Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have been married for 10 years, and we have 5 beautiful children, 9 7 4 2 1, and 1 on the way!!! I have worked for an insurance company for almost 6 years and I get to work from home!!
