It’s nice to meet you!

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody! There’s so much info out there it’s always hard to know where to start. But if I’ve learned anything from the country store I worked in, it’s that asking the people who put their hands on their work every day usually know what they’re talking about. Now, not quite always, and I am a second opinion type person, but it is usually the first solution I’ll look into anyway! Anyway, long way of saying I am positive I’ll enjoy being here! 😁😁
Thanks again for making me feel like more than a number!
our coop will be here tomorrow; is there anything special I should do in cleaning it out from a previous owner? That is all, for now! We are getting the coop for free, and we are going to clean it up etc and expand it, but I wanted to be sure I’m not missing anything that could potentially harm the girls. 😁

Sorry y’all- I got even busier as we picked up another 4 babies right as we were moving the other 4 into the coop! Ha! And this cold weather has been more work trying to make sure the coop stays plenty warm for 3-4 week old chickens- ah! Our new girls are so sweet! We got 2 black Australorps, and 2 bantam, which turned out to be one bantam Sussex and one buff Brahma bantam who is just gorgeous if I do say so! Here’s Jackie, and Chip! We named our Sussex Chip, as she of course looked just like a little chipmunk!
