Long time lurker & reader of BYC, first time poster!
We are growing a group of like-minded folks in the Sycamore area that are in support of backyard chickens. Like many cities, there is currently an ordinance against keeping them (actually there is/was a double ordinance that conflicts that, but that is another story!). Since there is power in numbers, we are working to assemble a group of others who are interested in modernizing this ordinance. Currently the city doesn't think there is enough interest to warrant a change. We want to show them that there is interest!
This forum is a valuable tool for us, not just for this issue, but for raising hens in general. Thank you to all who have posted before us, and we hope to get to know everyone here better!
