(1) I am not new to working with animals, but I am relatively new to owning chickens. I have had my small flock about two years.
(2) I currently have 5 hens and 3 roosters.
(3) My flock is all mixed-breed, my dad purchased them at the local flea market... and brought them to me :/
(4) I found out about BackYardChickens by browsing the internet for ideas for coops and runs.
(5) I teach high school math and science, and I stay quite busy with lessons. I also ride horses, read, play piano, hike, swim, and work a garden.
(6) I lead a pretty quiet life, not very interesting
I'm looking forward to making some new friends!
