He is a mix. He was a gift from my boyfriends uncle. I am trying to find a breed that would do good here. I like the free range which is what he is. But we are building a special chicken coop/ house for the new batch I plan on getting. Thinking americanas (sp), wanted silkies and frizzles but I heard they were not the smartest bunch. Still unsure right now as to what I'm going to get.

a had a friend get some amerucanas from meyerhatchery.com she liked them
it's better to get dark colored birds for free range as they are less likely to be picked up by Hawks
