Hello from Texas!

Hi all I am still new to chickens but am hooked for good!! We like to let our chickens free range as much as possible however are cautious since the neighbors dogs got some of our hens. We have built a chicken tractor to keep them safe now while free ranging. We currently have 24 chicks and will be building more chicken tractors for them so I am interested in everyone's design who have chicken tractors which are functional and protect from predators!! We live in a heavily wooded area of East Texas and have seen coyotes, foxes, opossum, raccoons, bobcats, snakes, and chicken hawks!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have had chickens for about a year. We started with 18 RIR chickens from the local feed store and are now buying from local breeders and hatching our own chicks!!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 31 Chickens and 24 Quail

(3) What breeds do you have? RIR, BCM, BLRW

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Pinterest

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Horses, woodworking, gardening

Some dogs and other predators are able to turn a tractor over and eat at leisure.
Please keep an eye on them.

These are our 2 chicken tractors!! One light weight that we currently have the Quail in and a heavier made one that or older flock are in. I am looking for something similar to the PVC one but with a co-op area too.
