May I suggest that you use 1/2" hardware cloth to cover all your openings? What you currently have installed will not stop smaller predators from gaining access to the coop. I purchased my 1/2" HC on Amazon. They have the best prices, it is galvanized after welding, 19 gauge cloth which is the same as what I can get locally only less expensive.
How many layers do you expect to house? You only need 1 nest box for every 4-5 birds. I have 10 laying hens that used 2 nest boxes without issue in their old coop.

Thank you, I’ll have 24 layers eventually. I’m not sure how big the Jersey Giants will get, but I’m assuming I’ll need an extra large box for those girls. I’ll be installing hardware cloth around the ‘monitor’ portion of the barn soon. The 2x3 welded wire that is there currently will stay, I’ll just add the hardware cloth to the other side of the 2x4s. The eaves already have hardware cloth over them, I’m not sure if you can tell from the pictures. There will also be storm shutters on the top eventually. Definitely became a bigger project than anticipated, but it has been a blast to build. I know the ladies will appreciate it when it is completed.

I googled a lot of things, but chicken coop ideas, pallet coop, pallet shed, diy coops, small flock care, raising chickens, new chicken owner, raising chicks, large chicken coops, coops for 25 chickens etc.. Thanks, I downloaded the app and am now using it. I know it’ll become my most frequently used app now, and I’m going to have to set a screen time alert on it!
