Hi Mitch, sounds like your homesteading efforts are well under way! As @pennyJo1960 said, hardware cloth is your friend (forget chicken wire, it's too flimsy). Hot wire could be helpful too. You might also want to consider keeping your flock confined to a large covered run to really protect them from predators.
