Hey everyone! Allseeingeye from Mandeville, La. here.
I recently decided to start my own backyard flock in the suburbs and I've been enjoying going over this site for a while now, so I decided to finally register and introduce myself. A little more than two weeks ago our chick ordered arrived at the post office for me to pick up and I've been obsessed ever since!
My 15 day old flock consists of four Rhode Island Reds, four White Leghorns, four Americaunas (all pullets) and five (breed unknown to me at this time) males added for warmth. I'm hoping someone can identify the breed of these males. I will post pics in another thread.
I can't believe how much they have changed in the two weeks that we have had them! I have converted an old outside storage shed into a chicken coop, and I'll be posting pics of my design soon. I'm anxiously awaiting getting them out of the brooder and into their new home. I still have to fence in their run, but thankfully I have plenty of time to get it done.
Looking forward to sharing in the wealth of information that this site has to offer!
