As I'm sure you could tell I am a brand spanking new member, even though I have been scanning the forums for random information for quite a while now.
I guess I should give a little introduction:
Although I was raised in an agricultural family (my father was a sheep and cattle rancher) and I’ve had jobs in dairying since high school, I am still very new to raising livestock on my own. I began raising rabbits and chickens in the city about two years ago for both my table and some supplemental income to help me through college. About six months ago, my boyfriend and I began to live and work on a Goat Dairy and started increasing our pre-existing stock, as well as accumulating 6 Muscovies, 2 Khaki Campbells and 20 Cortunix quail. All of this on top of slowly working to make our little homestead as self-sufficient as possible.
While we most definitely have our hands full, our stock is every increasing, so I decided there was no better place to turn to for some much need expertise than BYC!
