I wanted to introduce myself. My husband and I live in the coastal southeast with our dog, 3 cats and 8 chickens! We have a backyard coop and run that we built last year.
Long story short, I have always wanted chickens. We had a very difficult couple of years starting in 2020 where we lost some of our closest family members. About a year ago I had a dream I had chickens, woke up the next day telling my husband how disappointed I was it was only a dream. That weekend I purchased a starter coop and withing weeks we had out first 3 bantam cochins! Of course, chicken math is real so my husband spent his summer building a coop with me. I absolutely love being a chicken momma and they have helped me immensely dealing with grief and loss. I am so thankful for my husband and the awesome people I have met through chicken keeping! A little over a year later we now have 8 ladies. I am excited to meet more chicken people!
