Hi - just wanted to introduce myself as I am new to BYC.com I am new to owning domestic birds and found my way here while doing research for my venture into backyard chickens. However, plans changed and for the moment we do not have chickens but rather ducks. Currently, we have 5 duck who are all ~ 6 weeks old- 1 Pekin, 2 Rouens, 1 Khaki Campbell, and one blue runner (the later was sold to us as a khaki campbell but clearly is not). I would really love to have a Welsh Harlequin hen but waiting to see what the genders are that I currently have. So far only the runner has quaked and I am fairly certain the cambell is a male based on lack of quack and dark feathers over tail (thanks to another members post for posting good images on this). Any chance my rouens or pekin may just be late to the quacking party or should they have quacked at this age (6 weeks) if girls?

Hello and welcome to BYC. I hope that you enjoy your time here. Sorry, i know zip about ducks, but I’m sure others will share their knowledge with you.

This is a useful link of “How to” BYC guides to take a look at announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3. I’d suggest including your location using the guide in the link. You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.

Best wishes
