Hey all!
I've been lurking for quite some time now (last year we adopted 2 chickens, what an experience!).
Now we have 19, one is in the infirmary

Many thanks to ALL the great people on this site!!!
I've been up with our sick gal all night giving fluids and food, praying she pulls through, and leaning heavily on the advice of y'all.
Truly a great community. Very proud to be a part.

She didn't make it, was starting to suffer.... now she is at peace under a tree beside our porch

I come across as a tough redneck, but wow. I cried like a little school girl.
This chicken keeping is hard!
Later I sat in our brooder and gave the peeps (4 weeks) their first tomato, let them jump all over me, and realized that it's worth it.
