Hello! I've been a long time lurker on this forum and have made the big decision to jump into owning chickens! They haven't arrived yet, but I'm pretty excited. Soon I will have 4 started Australorp hens for my backyard.
They won't arrived until early June but I can't hardly wait! I have so much to do before they get here. I have a coop, but my boyfriend and I will be building a run this upcoming weekend. I've also started gathering all the necessary things one needs.....for example today I had to run to our local feed store for my cat food so I decided to pick up pellets, grit, oyster shells, etc, since I was there ( I only make it there every three weeks or so). That meant I also had to track down a sealable bin to keep the mice out of the feed...Next week when I head out of town I'll be picking up ACV...
Any items you wish you had at the beginning?
