I'm still in the research phase, so don't have any chick's yet but I'm so excited to get started!! I'm currently experiencing coop design overload. Building my own is not an option and I'm just not sure where to get a good one.
Can't wait to meet some of you experienced flock owners!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Sheds make wonderful chicken coops. A nice 8x10 shed updated with roost bars, nest boxes, ventilation in the eaves and boom...you have a coop! Add a big covered run as well, maybe an 8x20.

Make yourself at home here and welcome aboard!

Welcome to BYC.
I am no carpenter, but I've built a lot since I've had chickens. I was unhappy with the first coop, although it is built tough. I designed my own after that.
If you can measure, use a level, a saw and cut a board, you can do it.
A shed will give you a good start.

Welcome to BYC!

Avoid any pre-fab coops. They are usually too small and don't hold the amount birds they say, hard to predator and weather proof, and don't last that long. Buy something that could easy be converted into a coop. Sheds, horse trailers, or even coops someone else has built would be best.
