I have been a member but never posted. I received a wonderful email today from Nifty- Chicken and decided I should post an intro.
My name is Michele Montana.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
When we bought our home in July 2006 - they came with the house. The previous owners were friends of ours and our 4 year old twins begged for the hens to stay.
Then in the spring of 2007 we gave the few remaining hens that were no longer laying back to their previous owners and added 6 of our own. We still have two from that first group - Sunny & Penguin. They are survivors of separate hen tragedies - long stories! We got 6 more in 2008 and only have one of those left now - more tragedies.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently have 3: Angel, Sunny, & Penguin and have more hens ordered for April
(3) What breeds do you have?
Angel (Leghorn?), Sunny (Rhode Island Red?), Penguin (Black Star?)
I'm not exactly sure about their breeds because we ordered with other friends and they ordered an assortment.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading, Gardening, Parenting (LOL!)
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have been married to my college sweetheart for 16 years. We have boy/girl twins that are 8yrs. old and in third grade, and we have a four year old daughter.
We have two acres with a creek that runs through the property. We all love to be outside. We also have a 1 year old Boston Terrier named Kipper.
