I have had chickens about a year. Just two, but now we have seven more younger ones. I don't know much. I don't even know what breeds I have or what breeds are good at laying eggs or eating bugs out of the yard.

I read your website all the time. We are currently moving to 15 acres on the Bayou and I am terrified alligators will eat my chickens. Right now we are loving chicken tv.

I am a teacher, and we keep the babies I hatch in my classroom each year. I split them 50/50 with my coteacher.

Welcome to BYC. Love that you keep the chicks you hatch in the classroom! Please do post pictures and lots of people on here will help you to identify what you have.

I posted one earlier, but I don't know if I did it correctly
Okay, found it. Yeah looks like you have some roosters there. Taking close up pictures of their faces really helps in determining rooster/hen (although 2 months is young). I can't help with breeds but yours are beautiful!

Thanks! The mother attacked two of them from day one inside, so we had to raise them away. Now the mother seems to hate all of them equally.
