Hello everyone and thank you. I have been reading from the site for some time and decided it was time to sign up. We have had our own chickens now for over a year and have learned much and have much to learn!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? (See above)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now we have 2 hens (leghorns) that are about 1 year old (just finished first molt). They are great, great layers. We have 4 layers that are about 4 weeks old and 14 we are raising as fryers (a first for us).
(3) What breeds do you have?
2 Brown leghorns
1 white leghorn
1 Astrolarp
1 Sexlink
15 buff orps
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
like everything else...googled it
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
trying to keep up with the two kids in my family
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I was always the business guy in the family and thought my brother, who had a farming bug/gene and got a poultry science degree was insane. I've recently come to realize he has it figured out!
