Hello from the PNW

Hi there!

I’ve been lurking for a few weeks but I just brought home my first ducklings yesterday so I though I ought to do an intro.

I’m completely new to poultry and birds in general, am a research addict and an animal lover. I’m attempting to turn my 1/8 acre rural development lot into a permaculture micro-homestead, and ducks are an important part of that plan up here where it’s soggy and chilly!

My only other immediate “livestock” plans are worms, but we have lots of pets. One dog, two cats, three rats. I’ve also had reptiles in the past.

I’ve been doing the forum thing since ‘99 and just poking around here I’m blown away at the positivity and helpfulness that permeates these boards. Excited to join!

There is not to many critters more cute than a baby duckling.
