Been posting to some threads on here already, but decided to make a proper intro.I've been involved in farming all my life, but in this area of the USA,thats commonplace.
We currently have 10 imported German Shepherds(we have raised them had for about 30 yrs) www.vomlauterbach.com
Now we are getting back to basics, as my grandmother raised White leghorns for eggs, she had over 200 at one time.Actually the old family story was told how her and my grandfather actually bought and paid for the family farm during the great depression,by selling fresh eggs to stores in Chicago. My father was a hobby breeder, raising dark cornish and silver seabrights along with some guinea fowl once in awhile.
We are at this moment hatching our first 42 French Marans eggs, with another 50 to go into the incubator on Monday. This website is a valuable resource for the community of poultry breeders and back yard hobbist's combined. The information posted here is endless, and now instead of shutting the puter off and watching tv,I come here and read thread after thread on subjects about chickens and answers and ideas.
