(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We got our first set of chicks in March of 2022.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
9 chickens currently (6 hens, 3 chicks)
(3) What breeds do you have?
4 silver laced wyandottes, 1 golden cuckoo maran, 2 easter eggers, and 2 speckled sussex
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Interacting with these silly creatures. They're such fun to watch and raise. Also the fresh eggs are a good perk!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Video games, baking, just being outside.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have two children, 2 dogs (1 rottweiler and 1 plott hound mix), 2 cats, and a small ball python. I work remotely so I got into raising chickens to give me something to do with my extra time.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Been a lurker for a couple years now, but 2 of our most recent chicks have some quirks so looking for more info to help them if needed.
