Thank you all for the welcomes and suggestions.
Happily, we have found our future home in the Cayo district of Belize. It's a bit over 4 acres of rainforest with a lovely creek. There will be space for a large run. Optimistically, our new home will be completed before rainy season 2024, so I have plenty of time to plan.

I would like to enlist our future chickens' help to manage the property via free range, but there are so many daytime predatory birds, we'll have to see how it goes. Many Belizeans keep free-range backyard chickens in the villages, so maybe it will work for us, too. Our property is just outside a fairly large village (pop ~1k).
