Hello from Tualatin, OR!

I’m lucky to be at home with the kids and able to put time into making this home my dream space. The kids love having animals around — we also have cats, a dog, fish, a reef tank, lizards, dart frogs, a snake… I find setting up habitats fascinating, and am an avid plant collector as well! Someday, I hope to add more livestock to our space — German Angoras and Pygoras goats are on my list, as I really enjoy working with fiber crafts like needle felting, and would love to pick up a wheel to start spinning someday.

Greetings to my old stomping grounds in Tualatin, we're a few miles away now. Among our countless chickens we have 3 Lavendar Ameraucanas who do lay (very small) bluish eggs. I got them from a local lady over in the Sellwood type area. The Super Blue Egg Layers from mypetchicken.com in their current breeding program have made for some beautiful blue eggs. The first few generations (and therefore reviews) of the Super Blues weren't that impressive, but now they've got it going on if you're still looking for blue eggs.

Also on goats - visit the NW Oregon Dairy Goat Association ( https://nwodga.org/current-members ) - usually they have a big clinic kind of thing in February every year, though with Covid I don't know what the plans for 2022 include - anyways, it's an event where you can take a variety of classes depending on your particular interests and find folks who have the types of goats you wish to consider keeping.
