I have to admit, as my wife of 38 years (next week) and I were exploring ideas about building a chicken coop this fall, Google kept sending me here. I've learned a lot of things as a "visitor" and now that we are getting closer to actual construction I wanted to join in all the fun.
We live on a farm in north central Kentucky. We had chickens in a very old coop (about 100 year old chicken house) when we had kids at home twenty years ago but as time went by and we lost our hens, we didn't replace them.
Now we are planning to work on our orchard, set a few bee hives and build a new flock of hens for our own source of eggs.
I look forward to sharing our plans and our joys with all.
Wish us luck!
