We have had our girls (plus one roo) for about 3 years. The group consists of Speckled Sussex, Easter Eggers, Black Copper Marans and Blue Copper Marans. Our Rooster is a Blue Cooper Maran named Pepe LaRoo. The Marans are a broody bunch and I pull eggs out from under them when they are brooding. I learned that they hide eggs in the very back of the nesting box when I came into the coop and found 3 baby chicks peeping around! Funny thing, there are 2 moms. These 2 shared a nesting box even though there were many others to choose from.

I look forward to reading the posts on this site. Thanks for allowing me to share
