I am new to the site and wanted to just say hello. We moved to Utah last June and I have finally talked my husband into letting me get chickens. I had them growing up in Northern Virginia but this will be the first time I have had "my own". Fortunately my mother lives with us and can help with some of my chicken questions. I have ordered a coop and am waiting for it to arrive, I have already decided that it needs some alterations to make it more user friendly for humans to access the chickens. I am sure this will always be some sort of work in progress as we learn more. Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Great to have another poultry lover! What kind of chickens are you planning on getting?

Thank you for joining us at Backyard chickens. Hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. If you put "Utah." in the searchbox it will bring up your state thread. You can post on it and see if you have any BYCERS in your neck of the woods.

Welcome!

As you have already received links to some great starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
