Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce myself and say thank you so much for all the helpful threads on this forum. It inspired me to start raising chicks! I picked up six Golden Sex Links yesterday.

As you can see the pets love them.

(They're only allowed to investigate when I'm in there).

Any tips or advice for these little guys is welcome!

Hello and :welcome
Be super carful with other animals, chicks are very fragile.
If you have not already seen it the learning center is great!

Welcome to BYC!

Congrats on the new chicks! But, X2...chicks are very very fragile and can get hurt very easily. So you might want to keep the critters out of the brooder. If a chick gets hurt or killed, it will break your heart.

Enjoy your new babies and welcome to our flock!

Howdy! Congratulations on your new flock! How exciting. I agree in that you need to be careful about what your chicks are exposed to. Remember chicks must have restricted contact not only with humans, but up close encounters with other household pets can expose your chicks to contagions that might kill them. So it would be best to allow other four legged critters to observe from afar. And the same goes for the rambunctious two legged varmints.

Good luck and glad you stopped by!
