Hello from VA.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm super excited to get them in the coop. It's just a waiting game now for the to grow up a little.
Should I go ahead and put plywood across the whole front and back for more wind protection and maybe more room to perch?

Hello and welcome from Ohio....so glad you joined BYC

Looks like you have the start of a nice coop and run. I also use a chain link kennel for my chickens. I put hardware cloth around the bottom 1/2 to keep raccoons from reaching in and pulling my chickens out. I built a windbreak on the north and west sides of my coop for the winter. I stapled plastic sheeting to 8 ft sections of picket fence then wired that to the north and west sides. They were easily removed a few days ago to let the warm breezes thru. Dont know if that will help but thought I would share. Good luck with your coop construction. I find it a lot of fun to change things around :)

Thanks for the tip. I thought about tarps on the kennel for wind but I haven't decided yet. Im pretty sure I'm going to add wood to the front ant back of the coop because my perch location only puts them about 6 inches off the side wall. I'm not sure thats enough room for full grown birds.
