We're new to backyard chicken raising and have a small flock 3 +1, which includes 2 Barred Rock, 1 RRR who've been together all their lives and an Auracana we are hoping to integrate with the other girls. Welcome from a fellow Bay Area resident. This is a great site, all kinds of good advice. I integrated a single hen into my flock of 2 this spring, it took a while, but now they're all good. I did "see but don't touch" for a good 2 weeks before I let them out together, there was very little chasing or pecking before they settled into pecking around the yard together. It was another week and a half before they let her sleep in the coop with them though. Just take it slow and let the chickens decide.
