Hello from Vermont!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.

I knew we had a black bear momma routinely roamed through our property before we ever got the chickens. So everything was always protected by hot wire. Now my setup sits inside electrified poultry netting powered with a 10,000 volt charger. She's never bothered my chickens.

There is some fence line maintenance required but it is very much worth the effort.

We use mostly Blink from Amazon. We have about 7 outdoor and one indoor in the coop and one in the incubator.

The deer cams we put further out where wifi doesn't reach.

The last bear a couple of weeks ago, I just got on my camera. They don't go after our chickens but want our sunflower seeds in the wild bird feeders. Suet was what they got this time. The feeders are now on pulleys up in the trees where they can't reach.

Oh wow!!! Seems like maybe you shouldn’t have any bird food. Then the bears won’t be attracted to your property. I’d be nervous they’d discover the chickens. Amazing photographs though!!
