Hello! We are also in Virginia Beach and we are also new to BYC! We will be ordering our first baby chicks in a couple of weeks. We are excited and nervous. We are not zoned for chickens but decided that if our neighbors were okay with it we were going to go for it! Our kids are beside themselves with excitement (so am I!) If we are reported, what kind of consequences can we expect?

So sorry it took so long to reply.I'm in the process of finding that out.I live in ocean lakes so that might be a huge problem.I checked city code and I'm good there,but the way I look at it is we have ducks and geese walking all over the place I should be able to have my chickens.I will fight this no matter what and keep you informed!Where in Va.Beach are you located?And are you having zoning issues?Thanks Bob
