Hello from Virginia!

Hello all!

I have been the caretaker of several lovely hens and a roo for a little over two years now. We have raised two batches of chickens and a total of 15 in all. Currently, we have five hens and the rooster after some raccoon attacks a few weeks ago. I have raised Easter Eggers, Barred Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, and white Leghorns.

I found out about BackYard Chickens around the time we got our first chicks, when we decided that TONS of research about chickens was best.

I live with two cats in rural Virginia, and I hope to be engaging more in this community now that I am a member!

I live up north, around Charlottesville and two hours from DC. I raise bees as well as chickens. Thanks for the welcome!
