Hello from Virginia

Hi! I just wanted to introduce myself to the members of this great forum. A year ago, my husband and I were able to purchase our dream house, a late 19th century farmhouse on a couple acres. When the sellers asked us if we would want to keep the property's hens, we happily replied - "we would LOVE to"! Our little flock consists of 3 Easter Eggers and 5 white Jersey Giants, and we plan on adding some more girls soon. Our family is rounded out by our 10 year old, Shetland Sheepdog, MacDuff, who helps protect 'his' girls by trying to chase away any large birds flying over!

That's so awesome that you got to keep the chickens... wish it'd been that easy to find chooks for us! We walked for two hours the first time. (Mistake with the distances. It's funny now. )
