I am a new to the chicken world and I am loving it! I have 4 little ladies, they are now about 8 weeks and full of personality. Lucille, a Welsummer. Lana, a Buff Orpington. Rizzo, a Golden Sexlink and Merida another Golden Sexlink. I am sure the names speak for themselves, But just to share a little about them...
Lucille is my favorite. I love her coloring of reds, browns black and golds. She was the baby of the pack. She is adorable and very tolerant of the other girls and...Me! lol! Lana is a beautiful buff and and sweet as can be. Rizzo has amazing coloring of red and white. She is the Queen of the roost and is very funny in her mannerisms. Merida is a dazzling red head and acts very dainty. But, she will show Rizzo that she is her own boss if is pushed.
I was so excited when I came to find the " Backyard Chickens" website. So much helpful information for all us "Newbies'. I use it anytime I need I have a question on the well being of my little flock.
