Good Afternoon to everyone, I am Justin and as you will see from the rather obvious title of the thread I am from Wales. I studied both Agriculture and Horticulture but had to put and end to any hopes of a career with either of them over twenty years ago when it was discovered I have a curvature of the spine. As a child growing up we had a small holding with ducks, geese, chickens, Turkeys, pigs and a couple calves so animals were always a part of my life.

Recently I have moved in with my fiancee and we have just bought three hens, they are Agatha, Cerys and Martha and already they taken over the garden and are demanding to be let into the house to take over there as well.

Away from the animals I am a keen photographer, and writer, mostly blogs/notes limited to facebook I keep intending on starting a proper blog but never seem to get the time although I have maybe found that I will have more cause to now these girls are beginning to cause mischief.

It will be nice to meet you and learn from others who are returning to a life of hens after a considerable time, I certainly don't remember them having this much attitude back then as these three madame's.

Greetings, Justin, and

Good Evening to you and thank you, I've just noticed a few other welsh people here as well, it seems as though mine might all be laying but just sporadicaly as they are only point of lay and just 21 weeks old, looking more closely at my eggs there does seem to be a slight variation and so hopefully my worries about the black rock were a case of worry over nothing.

Welcome to BYC!!!

Hiya Good Morning Everyone, LDev, I used to have LandRace and Large White Sows, we only had three or four because we only had a small holding, the trouble we found was the markets for pork was so unstable, I studied Agriculture and Horticulture, you can imagine going to Somerset for Horticulture the farm boys stole a lamb and brought it down to the dorms to welcome me...

These girls are as grumpy as sin this morning because I'm working a long shift and don't want to leave them unattended just yet so they are pacing their run plotting murder.

On that note I had best get myself watered and fed or I will miss my train.

Your blog sounds awesome.
