Hello!

I'm new to BYC, but have had backyard chickens for at least 10 years. Over the years my flock has decreased, so I've added four hybrid chicks. They are almost 4 weeks old now. My last standing 10 year old hen (barnyard mix) is raising them. Only one of the chicks I'm sure of the parents. An Ameraucana hen and Blue Andalusian roo. The others come from a different farm and are unknowns hybrids. I'm having a lot of fun guessing their genders and what breeds they might be. I might post them someday, so you can have fun guessing too!

@Bawk_Choy - A friendly welcome to the BYC flock, and want you to know we are so happy to have you! I can't wait to see photos of your barnyard mix, and I think alot of folks will really enjoy helping you guess to their breeds. It's good to have another experienced chicken keeper here, and hope that we can share tips with you and that you can do the same with us.

Would love to hear if you have any other pets/farm animals, and what hobbies you enjoy!

Wow, you guys are so nice! Thank you for the warm welcome.

Besides my chickens I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi that's almost 13 yo, and a long haired Pastel Tortoiseshell cat that's 14 yo (sounds fancy, but its just a cat).

I have about a third of an acre, so I like to garden and try my hand at organic gardening. Besides that I also love backyard bird watching and photography. I usually like to go to wildlife refuges and trails, but with the current situation I've been limited to my backyard. No complaints though. I'm enjoying being present and observing my environment.
