In the Brooder
My family and I are currently living in West VA but will soon be migrating to upper Michigan (just outside Graying).
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
-We've had chickens about 3 years now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
-Right now we have a little over 30 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
-We have mostly Barred Rocks and Rhode Island Reds be we also have a couple Ameraucanas for the kids.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
-Google I think.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
-Art and general outdoor hobbies like hunting and fishing etc...
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
-We also have a few ducks, goats, dogs, and more cats than we need. We live in town, but we got a roomy 4 acres that allows most of our pets to mostly free range which really helps cut down on the feed costs.
-Spring through fall one of my favorite things to do is walk around our property collecting wild edibles for our feathered friends. I chop them up into bite sized pieces and they go crazy over it, especially the ducks. You would think they could just get it themselves but they seem to really like when its all chopped up nice and neat.
