Hi all:
Just a quick hello. Not really a newbie but its been a looooong time. Have raised, ducks, chickens, quail... many years ago... Recently got a place with more space and so time to revisit old hobbies. Also dabble with show guppies, daylily hybridization, and lots of other nature stuff. Have a BS in biology, an MS in ecology and most of a PhD (ABD) in evolutionary biology. Live on a little creek in western Michigan with 10 acres of mostly forested land.
Have some BBS Ameraucana, Birchen Marans, Silver Hmong, Lavender Cochins, and Svart Hona eggs in a homemade incubator now... trial by fire... and the fire has been kicking at my heals more than once as a result of shall we say less than reliable incubator equipment...
The last bit of brilliant advise i got form a major online provider was if nothing hatches then the fancy new thermostat needs to be calibrated and i can easily do that by moving the calibration settings up or down hatch by hatch and when i finally get a good results... then i will know it is properly calibrated. Ahhhhh.... shoot me now
Best
Jeff
