Hi, I am from Wisconsin and always had a small flock of chickens as a child on my family dairy farm. Fast forward to my adulthood years, now raising three young boys, I've decided to share my country roots and get some chickens. I'm in love with the Plymouth Barred Rocks and hope to free range 6-8. I have not built my coop yet, but have been researching many plans. We look forward to picking our chicks up mid May. Wish us luck on our new venture and thank you in advance for being a great resource and support system!

I do wish you good luck and now you Backyard chickens has your back. Hope we will get an update when you pick up your chicks.

Welcome!

As you have already received links to some great starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
