Hi, this is my first post. I have lurked for a few weeks, and now I decided to join the forum. At the moment, I have 68 chickens: 20 dark cornish, 10 cornish crosses, 26 Silver Spangled Hamburgs, 5 Americaunas, a few Rhode Island Red, Partridge Rock and Barred Rock. My children used to raise chickens for 4H years ago. (They are all almost 9 weeks old now - one of the SSH cockerels is starting to crow.)This year, we decided to repair the coop and start our new flock. I wanted a flock of Silver Spangled Hamburgs because I have always loved that breed. My 9 grandchildren (aged 3-9) each have at least one pet chicken, and they have been learning so much. We recently butchered 65 Cornish Cross for the freezer.
